What Are Core Exercises

Traditionally Core Exercises focus on the ab workouts and sometimes lower back muscle. This is the old and wrong way to view your core. Basically any muscle that attaches to the pelvis, lower back, and ribs is part of your core. It is an intricate part of the human body.

Your core muscles are divided into 2 systems: the deep stabilization system and the superficial movement system, you need to do core exercises that focus on hitting both of these. The funny thing is, most people thing that doing situps is the best exercise here, and they will magically get a six pack.

To get a great core you first have to lose the fat around the waist. The biggest misconception in the fitness industry is that you will get a six pack from doing situps.

The simple fact is, there are many more effective ways of getting great abs than simply doing situps. Believe it or not doing situps is actually one of the worst ways to get a great core. We preach a different way to get a great core here.

The real truth is, you have to build a strong body with compound movement exercise and burn the fat with high intensity interval training.

Although the below pics are extreme, it gives a good example of what people strive for when thinking core exercises. For most women it is that tones sexy look, and for men it is that washboard stomach.
