The Best Back Workout You’ve Ever Done

If you are looking for the best back workout, you’ve come to the right place. You know the back is a bit of an unsung hero. It is a huge muscle group and it is responsible for a lot of the ‘working’ muscles in the body. A lot of people don’t pay much attention to the back, but there are few things more impressive than a wide V shaped body for most guys. That’s what the best back workout will give to you.

The back is worked with two basic movement types. Rowing motions and Pull down motions. There are really a ton of different rowing motions that you can do, but in the opinion of many there is one pull down motion that stands out. That is the wide grip pull down (wide grip chin ups are the same basic movement). Wide grip pull downs are the key movement for that awesome V shape. They work the lats like no other exercise.

If you are new to working out you should know that there are two body parts that are exercised together more than any other. That is the bicep muscles and back muscles! These two are grouped together for two main reasons. First, when you are working out it is often good to work out a large muscle group (like the back) with a small muscle group (like the bicep), and second back and biceps both use the same basic movement. A pulling motion…

Here is an Awesome Back and Bicep Workout

I mean there is no set rule saying that you have to work out these two body parts together. In fact if you are a bodybuilder or an advanced strength trainer and are looking for the best back workout you probably are not working these two body parts together. That is because you will be literally tiring one out when you are doing the other. They both use that pulling motion.

Let’s have a quick look at the two motions that really define back workouts. Rows and Pull downs.

Rows are an exercise that very closely mirrors manual labour. If you think about the motion that you do when doing rows you will quickly see that this is one of those exercises that really help out with almost any kind of sport or activity. On top of that there are a ton of different kinds of rowing motions that you can do. Cable rows, bent over rows, t bar rows are a few of my favourites.

Pull Downs are the best exercises you can do to build that awesome V shape. We spoke a bit about wide grip pull downs earlier and mentioned that they are the best workout that you can do for lats. But that doesn’t mean that they are the only one. One other exercise that I want to mention are pull ups. I am one that believes that pull ups are the single most effective workout movement there is for the upper body. It works absolutely everything from the waist up. it is an utterly amazing workout movement, and if you can do them, make sure you add them into your routines.
