Components of Physical Fitness

The basic components of physical fitness should all play a role in the start of anyones workout plans. To get the body for life that everyone wants and dreams of it is important to build these components into your health and fitness routine. This is what can set your workout plans apart from others,

Strength Training Component

Strength training turn your body into a calorie-burning machine. It has a critical role in any physical fitness program. What strength training does is build lean muscle mass, this increases your metabolism and keeps you burning calories. Your muscles will be burning calories even when you are at rest. Remember strength training is not just to make you big and bulky, it also works incredibly well to keep people lean and healthy.

Flexibility Training Component

Flexibility training is to often ignored totally, but one thing is for sure athletes know the importance of this. Flexibility training is an important component of an individuals overall workout plans. Without a good flexibility routine our bodies will eventually have major problems including posture, chronic back pain, and can even to injuries during exercise.

Ideally you will build yoga or pilates into your into your exercise routines, but at the very least you should build stretching into all your physical activities (before and after). Check out more great information on stretching and yoga.

Cardio Training Component

Really without good cardio you are going to find it difficult to enjoy an active lifestyle. There are many ways to add cardio into your workout plans, you don’t just have to jump on a treadmill, or jog for hours. How about playing soccer with some friends or trying some interval training. Cardio not only increases endurance but also cleans off all that guck and fat in your body, creating that body for life that we all dream about.

Nutrition is one of the key components of physical fitness, but is also one of the most mis-understood ones. Weeding out all the terrible info out there can be a daunting task.
