The first thing we have to touch upon is the importance of a balanced workout routine, which includes upper and lower body strength training.

When doing many of the upper and lower body workouts you are indirectly doing core strength workouts.

When you are focusing on your actual core strength workouts build these into your fitness plan.

Plank

Start in pushup position, next bring your elbows down to the floor your body raised off the ground clenching your abdominals.

Now hold your body in this position for 30-60 seconds. Relax, and repeat the exercise.

Start the wood chopper with your feet at a 90 degree angle to the floor and a medicine ball on the right or left side of your body.

Raise the ball upwards towards the ceiling on the opposite side of your body. Bring the ball back to the same side as you begain on. Repeat 10-15 on each side.

Side Bridge

This one is very similar to the Plank. You are basically holding yourself up and really activating your core the difference is your on your side with only one arm holding you up.
