Foods That Prevent Weight Loss
There are so many people focusing on foods that help or stimulate weight loss, and while that is important it is also important to know what the foods that prevent weight loss. These are the foods that are in the normal persons diet and are the types of foods that are sabotaging your weight loss goals.
Cola products – These are the one thing that we despise the most. The Cola companies really have an addicted market and they are killing a lot of people. A twelve ounce cola based drink equals about 150 calories. Cola based products are full of sugar, corn syrup or other sweeteners, and the diet ones are even worse. Consuming these high calories liquid sugar beverages also leads to overeating.
Sugary Cereals - Sugar is one of the enemies of successful dieting. Sugary cereals, particularly any cereal where sugar or a sugar substitute is the main ingredient are unhealthy. The majority of children's cereals are very highly processed and have almost zero nutritional value.
A great alternative is oatmeal served with honey or agave syrup. If you buy pre-packaged oatmeal, check the label and see how much sugar it contains - you will be shocked. Any cereal where sugar is listed as the first ingredient on the box should immediately be shelved.
Fried Chicken - OK, here is a really obvious one. But fried chicken is a dish that so many people eat that we had to add it. It is cooked in highly heated oils most notably, partially hydrogenated oil. These are full of trans fats and are known to cause cancer, weight gain and other serious health risks when consumed regularly. There is no faster way to super-size yourself than to consume fried chicken on a regular basis.
Cafe Mocha etc. - These coffe based drinks from most notably Starbucks with whole milk and whipped cream are very deceptive. A good way to get rid of the habbit is to think of it as more a Double Whopper with Cheese in a glass. Although these drinks tastes great they usually have more than 450 calories and 13 grams of bad fat. And whats worse, more and more of our children are drinking these type of drinks.
Processed Meats This is one of the foods that prevent weight loss that most people dont think about. Almost all processed meats have sodium nitrite added as a preservative. The evidence is staggering, there has been a recent study showing a 67% increase in pancreatic cancer for people consuming moderate amounts of processed meat on a frequent basis. Health and nutrition researchers claim that toxic chemicals, heavy metals and environmental pollutants that are found inside those fat molecules.
These are very often in a lot of the lunches we bring to work and pack for our kids.
Instead of these foods that prevent weight loss in your diet, why not supplement them with these other great foods that increase your metabolism.
