Your Total Body

Your total body is your focus, not just that one part you are trying to improve.

One mistake I see both beginners and advanced doing is focusing all their energy on a particular body part for a given period of time. Unless you are a pure bodybuilder there is really no reason to be doing this.

The only way to really get the body of your dreams is to focus on building your total body. So often in the gym there are guys that will push out a million curls trying to get their biceps to look good, or a gal will be doing crunches until she turns blue in the face looking for that ripped stomach.

This is really not the way to do this at all. Think of your body as a whole. The only way to really get a ripped beautiful body is to build it from the ground up. This means focusing on all facets of health and fitness like total bodywork, strength, abs, interval training. All very important facets of your fitness goals.

Remember this next time you are working out and you start getting upset at something and decide to only focus on that. One great example is building your biceps, many guys want this more than anything. To have bulging biceps means the babes will come running (hopefully for you). Well they focus on this to the point of exhaustion. Your biceps are a small muscle group and need to be worked correctly. Usually the best way to do this is through a back and bicep routine and the back work does at least half of what the bicep need.

The list of examples like this can go on and on. Another great one is the guy or gal that is looking for that six pack. I mean who isn’t really. It’s the ultimate sign of fitness, but simply doing crunches or sit-ups until you cant feel your waist anymore is really useless. You have to look at the whole picture; you need to think total body. Getting a six pack comes down to burning fat off your waist and eating really well. Doing sit-ups won’t help much at all.

Like I said the examples are endless. The one thing to remember is that your body is a whole unit and it needs to be worked out and needs to eat the right stuff. Keep your total body transformation just that, total body!
