Your Body, Your Life

Your body, your life is a concept that I have come up with that is about your motivational goals when it comes to exercise. Sometimes motivation is the one missing element to a great success story.

Has this ever happened to you? You are exercising for a couple weeks or months and really seeing results. Suddenly, you lose all motivation for some particular reason. You stop working out and you lose all the gains that you had worked so hard for. This compounds the problem and now you are really upset and have absolutely no motivation, perhaps even a bit embarrassed to show back up to the gym in the first place.

Trust me it happens to everyone. This is where the concept your body, your life comes into play.

Your Body, Your Life is a motivational tool that tracks your progress in real life terms. It is not going to take much of your time and only will use a pen and a piece of paper.

1)Start by Making 2 Columns – column 1 is called your body and 2 is called your life.

2) Simply start by putting down 1 goal for “your body” and 1 or 2 examples of how this will improve your life.

3) Work your way through as many goals as you have for each of the body parts you want to improve.

Keep this somewhere safe, because this may be private. You may want to firm up your arms so when you wave you are not embarrassed of flubby arms. You may want to shape your butt so the guy at the office looks at you different on Friday jeans day. You may want to build your chest muscles so when you take your shirt off at the beach the girls stare at you.

These goals can be as personal as you make them.

Just revisit your list every week or two and see if you have made your goals. If you have achieved a goal, try and make a new goal. If not, work on the reasons why and keep working to get to that point.

Sometimes motivation is the worst enemy we have. I always feel if things are written down you can keep track of them and actually stay motivated to workout, even on those days you are feeling bad for yourself. Work on the your body, your life principle yourself. Let me know if it works for you.
